Macbeth the play
the entire plot of Macbeth begins with a supernatural scene of witchcraft. three witches are discussing were they will meet again and when, "Where will we meet again, in thunder, lightning or rain?". The three witches are described as evil, foul, filthy and belligerent.
Macbeth is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare and is considered one of his darkest and most powerful works, set in Scotland, the play illustrates the damaging physical and psychological effects of political ambition on those who seek power for its own sake. The play is believed to have been written between 1599 and 1606, and is most commonly dated 1606. The earliest account of a performance of what was probably Shakespeare's play is the Summer of 1606, when Simon Foreman recorded seeing such a play at the Globe Theater.

the Elizabethan England era 1558-1603
The age of Shakespeare was a great time in English history. The reign of Queen Elizabeth I saw England emerge as the leading naval and commercial power of the Western world. England consolidated its position with the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588 and Elizabeth firmly established the Church of England begun by her father, King Henry VIII.
What people did for entertainment was a lot different than out time, people in the Elizabethan era went to watch bear bating, public hangings of traitors ordered by the Queen Elisabeth. The plague was also during the Elizabethan era, Shakespeare's plays were also affected by the plague by making people want to stay in there homes because they were scared of the plague, actors and other workers had there wages cut to half or less because of this plague.
Queen Elisabeth's time had some bizarre and gruesome detail's, she ordered the death of 193 Catholics, held public executions of traitors and people she thought had committed treason against her because she wanted everyone to know that she was the head of the church and not god.
