Macbeth is a Scottish general and the thane of Glamis who is led to wicked thoughts by three filthy, disgusting, horrible, evil and foul witches, these thoughts are to kill King Duncan and take the crown as king.
The three witches
The three witches are prophets who hail Macbeth, the general, early in the play, and prophesy his ascent to king. Upon killing the king and ascending the throne of Scotland, Macbeth hears them ambiguously prophesy his eventual downfall. The darkly contradictory witches, their "filthy" trappings and supernatural activities, all set an ominous tone for the play.
Macduff
Lord Macduff, the Thane of Fife, Macduff plays a pivotal role in the play: he suspects Macbeth of regicide and eventually kills Macbeth in the final act, restoring power and piece within Scotland, making Malcolm the new king of Scotland and the natural order the great chain of order.
King Duncan
King Duncan is the great king of Scotland that Macbeth is loyal to but in a twisted and unbelievable way, Macbeth kills this great king of Scotland under the belief that he will become king of Scotland, he does this because the three wretched witches said he will have great power.
Lady Macbeth
Lady Macbeth is an evil women that persuades Macbeth to carry out the deed of killing King Duncan. she plans it well by putting drugs in the guards drinks, she waits till their heavily asleep than gives a signal to Macbeth to kill the great king. She has an uncontrollable lust for power.
Malcolm
Malcolm, like his father, represents order. He first appears in Act I, scene 2 where he is talking to a sergeant, with Duncan about Macbeth's exploits on the field of battle. Malcolm later appears in Act 1.4 talking about the execution of the former Thane of Cawdor with Duncan. Macbeth then enters and receives congratulations for his victory. Malcolm then at the end of the play is crowned king after Macduff kills Macbeth under the suspicion of regicide.
